David C. Miller received his Bachelor Degree of Political Science from the University of Baltimore and a Masters Degree in Education with a specialization in Conflict Resolution and Mediation from Goucher College in Baltimore, Maryland. As a recipient of the 1999-2001 George Soros Open Society National Community Fellowship Award, Miller will be designing a comprehensive "Violence Prevention System (VPS)" to be used in urban schools. The VPS will include a comprehensive curriculum designed to help youth examine violence from a different perspective. The VPS will feature a 45 minute documentary of interviews with families who have lost children as a result of community violence.

Finally, Miller has designed the African-American Male Leadership Academy, a project created to improve the retention and graduation rates of African-American males in Higher Education. The project which was piloted at Howard Community College in Howard County, Maryland focused on improving the survival skills of African-American males on campus through a series of workshops.
